Halcali – Re: Yasashii Kimochi Review

halcaliHalcali was the creation of Ryo-Z of Rip Slyme as a two member girl rap group. Their first album contained a lot more rap elements, but as time has gone on with this group, more pop and ballads have entered the equation and the rap has taken a back step to the overall music.

That’s why I can’t really feel Re: Yasashii Kimochi as a good evolution of the group because it feels so boring compared to the previous work by these two. What becomes very apparent is following what sells better, and I’m assuming that the ballad plus rap means more money than straight rap.

The pair are talented rappers considering they didn’t know how to rap before starting the group, but Re: Yasashii Kimochi is like hearing a total change of genre without the proper training.

Re: Yasashii Kimochi isn’t as engaging as previous releases and it might be better to wait for something better from the group.
