Hawaiian6 – Rings Review

hawaiian6Rings is a mini-album by Japanese rock band, Hawaiian6. The vocalist sounds very much like the vocalist for Beat Crusaders with similar delivery, but where Beat Crusaders are in the electronic pop punk/rock arena, Hawaiian6 is inside the pop punk ring.

Hawaiian6 sound a lot like early pop punk bands from the 1990s in the United States, with melodic vocals backed by uptempo music. It’s almost like Hawaiian6 became the second generation of what Hi-Standard used to do before they stopped making music.

Rings is a great punk album with a lot of the standard Japanese elements dispersed inside their songs, but the base of the music all coming from American pop punk.

You can’t go wrong with Rings, any fan of pop punk will think they’re good.
