Math rock is, to me, a very subjective genre of music. Consisting of mainly instrumentals playing increasingly complex music that only continues into the next song, hearing a band from Japan play the genre so well was surprising.
Lite reminds me of Don Caballero, but with a quicker tempo. On the album filmlets, Lite does not let up the sonic assault at all. Each song carries a difficult tempo and the complex arrangements make each song stand out.
In the end, if you’re a fan of math rock, Lite is a great band to listen to, even more so since they are from over the Pacific.
