스왈로우 (Swallow) – It Review

imageI’m torn on this album. On one hand, it’s a really solid indie rock album with dual vocalists combined with strong backing instrumentation. And on the flip side, I feel like It doesn’t reach the pinnacle that it should have.

The album sounds like a lot like some past American indie rock bands, and then adds some really old traditional Korean sounds on some of the tracks. It could be just the instruments that were chosen, like the organ. Over the tracks, the music maintains the softer indie theme, and when it sounds like the band is going to really hit a peak, it falls down to the comfort level that the rest of the album stays at.

I don’t know if 스왈로우 wants to sound older, or more mature, but with the skills that the group has, they should have done a song or two outside their strengths. At least it would have broken up the monotony of the album as a whole.
