Boobie Trap – Bring out Freedom Review

Boobie Trap is a straight pop punk band in the same vein as No Use For A Name or Lagwagon in terms of the instrumentation. They also carry a bit of Bigwig. Bring Out Freedom is a great example of how Japanese punk bands can produce music without the idiotic post sampling that a lot of American band decide is necessary.

The album never lets up in the tempo, constantly moving at a brisk pace. Boobie Trap is what American punk bands used to sound like before the pursuit to make millions became the overall goal rather than focusing on the music.

In many ways this album is a window into nostalgia because it’s the type of pop punk I liked the best when I was in high school and it’s good to see that the style hasn’t died.

Bring out Freedom is an excellent album if you like pop punk.
