티아라 (T-ara) – Absolute First Album Review
When I first heard of T-ara, they were just another addition to the ever growing Kpop girl idol count. Their first few singles were pretty standard and even the T-ara and Supernova collaboration “Time to Love” didn’t really impress.
But with their first album, I have become a fan. T-ara take a different approach than other Kpop girl idol groups by sticking firmly in an electropop landscape rather than the sugar pop of many other groups. What this also does it allow for much more specialized music.
Even with cute pop tracks peppering the album, I found that a couple of the members are actually good vocalists with the ability to project their voices, something lacking in a lot of Kpop girl idol groups.
T-ara’s Absolute First Album is good, a step above other girl idol groups for sure, but like the other groups, the necessity of the rapper holds them back.
