Hailing from Japan, Lillies and Remains are an interesting garage rock band. The Moralist S.S. is an EP containing five songs, but those five songs are all very strong.

Listening to the style of Lillies and Remains reminds me of a mix of garage rock, rockabilly, and punk. It has a the vocals of rockabilly with the straight forward approach of garage rock and punk. But at the same time, it the music doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard from Japan before.

I could honestly say that if I wasn’t told before, then I would think Lillies and Remains was an American indie band. Moralist S.S. is a great EP and I think the band has a lot of potential to make some great music.
