After writing Otsuka Ai’s Love is Best review, I went back and found my favorite song by her. “Daisukidayo” is a great song and shows off the vocal abilities of Otsuka Ai beyond her pop songs.

While most Jpop is pretty disposable, like many Morning Musume singles, Otsuka Ai’s delivery in her vocals has a very interesting range. She can sing high pitched and then project a smooth and powerful song like “Daisukidayo.”

Over the years, I have always listened to her music and while she has had a lot of changes, when she releases her ballads, they always have a long standing place on my playlists.

This isn’t Daisukidayo, but her live piano and vocals are excellent.
