Park Jin Young (박진영) – Sad Freedom Review

coPark Jin Young or otherwise known as JYP has a long history in the Korean music industry. Beginning as a choreographer, then performer, and now including producer of groups like Wonder Girls, 2AM, and 2PM.

This is his return single to the Korean pop scene and it keeps the catch-and-hook nature of the music, but for some reason, I think his vocals on this release is weaker than the live performances I saw of him in the past.

His single “No More No Love” isn’t immediately catchy, but the R&B theme gets stuck in your head. Also watch a live performance because the dance around the chorus is hilarious.

The overall theme of the album is late 1990s R&B and I still consider it Kpop, so it’s something to listen to without a lot of seriousness.

I think JYP is someone who can do anything, with or without seriousness. He has so much respect in the industry, he’s pretty much invincible. Agree about live performances vs. studio stuff.

He is talented for sure, but there’s something missing with his comeback.
