Pastafasta – Self-Titled Review

coverI’ll be dead to real, nine tracks over sixteen minutes for a hardcore album isn’t really unusual. But what Pastafasta lack in true musical talent, though they have some, they really make up with the energy that they put into their songs.

Their self-titled release is a lot like early hardcore punk from the United States with straight screaming over almost schizophrenic instrumentals. I wouldn’t say that the album is necessarily bad, but there are some issues with repetition.

Not to say that every song sounds the same, but in a way it sounds like they used the same three chords on every song just with different indistinguishable lyrics.

Pastafasta is a good hardcore band, but they haven’t reached that next level for hardcore. They are more kinder-core than college-core.
