Vanilla Unity – Love Review

vanilla-unityVanilla Unity was another early discovery for me when I started listening to Korean music. It’s an interesting album because it contains elements of pop rock, screamo, and emo genres. I do feel like on Love, Vanilla Unity didn’t know how to properly mix their album because it sounds flat.

Even with distortion and the here and there screaming, the album sounded too clean. With both ballads and epic-esque rock songs, Vanilla Unity show that they are talented, but along with their talent, the album contained a certain arrogance that I couldn’t place.

It could have been that some of the songs just sounded like they wanted to be something more than they were, or it could have been the previously mentioned weak mix of the album.

Otherwise, Love is a good release, but a weak rock album.
