World’s End Girlfriend is the work of a single person. The multilayered instrumental tracks are amazing in their simplicity and their complexity. The interesting thing about the songs is how effortless they seem, though multiple listens only begin to show how much work went into each song.
The tempos on the songs vary creating a nice landscape over The Lie Lay Land, never dwelling in the slower tempos, but actually working faster beats in other songs on the album. The additions to songs range from electronica, rock, acoustic, and ambient noise.
While some solo musicians create good music, World’s End Girlfriend is amazing. For me, World’s End Girlfriend is on the same level as Nujabes, but in a different genre. I could say that World’s End Girlfriend is actually better.
