Dragon Ash – Freedom Review

freedom_coverDragon Ash a band that surprised and impressed me from the first listen. The main point of focus is that the band plays a Latin-infused style. Poly-rhythms and time signatures that are unlike anything else in Japan, at least on the popular music scene.

Freedom continues their format and it still holds up very well. The song ordinary does sound a little like Japanese punk band Rize and here and there you might hear American band 311, but at the core, Dragon Ash’s album is wholly impressive on its own.

I have yet to hear anything that comes close to this genre jumping excellence and Dragon Ash know how to make their music interesting.
