e.via – e.via a.k.a. happy e.vil Review

image 4Korean rap fall into two categories for me and they’re pretty simple. Good and horrible. Thankfully, most rap that I discover is actually really good.

e.via is a contemporary of Lily Allen and Lady Sovereign, a female artist who doesn’t necessarily sing pop songs, but does have a pop influence in the music. e.via a.k.a. happy e.vil is a mini-album, with a lot of guest vocalists or rappers, but it is on the two tracks “오빠! Rap 해도돼” and “Hey!” that e.via shows the skills that will differentiate her from other pop acts. She is a reminder that Japan’s Halicali can be reproduced with better vocal delivery.

Strictly considering her mini-album, she has a lot of potential, but her lasting power remains to be seen in how her music evolves.
