Hyakkei – Standing Still In A Moving Scene Review

00 coverStanding Still In a Moving Scene is an instrumental album. The difference between Hyakkei and other instrumental bands is that Hyakkei’s music could easily have lyrics added to them, laying over the varied tracks.

The album’s tone is light and calming, not like some other instrumental bands in Japan. The twelve tracks are all of the rock genre, though there are some differences of tempo and style in a couple of the songs.

By far, Standing Still In A Moving scene is an album that should be heard, for the difference in themes compared to the other instrumental or even math-rock bands that are both in Japan, Korea, and the United States.

More of substance over style, Hyakkei’s album is a great tangent from indie rock to instrumental.
