Naru – 1집 자가당착 Review

image 3Naru’s first album is a pop rock album that reminds me of a mix of American pop punk and pop rock. I would almost classify this album as pop punk too, but it doesn’t have that musical theme in the music as strong as the pop rock.

Over the thirteen tracks of 자가당착, there is a great music variety which keeps the album fresh. Thirteen songs seems long from what I’ve heard and seen from a lot of bands, but Naru doesn’t have any boring tracks.

It does feel like Naru wants to try harder rock on some of the songs and I think that would be an interesting result, but 자가당착 is a solid album regardless if it being pop or not.

I could hear it 24/7 8D

I love his songs but I also really like how ‘Take Off’ is just a little instrumental but I love it to pieces and can’t other than listen to it. also love the theme of 천왕성으로, let’s escape this world kind of. and the random ‘there is an alien standing in front of me, wanting to shake my hand’ in 우주인
waiting for his 2nd, I’m sure it will be great too, at least the two songs I already heard at GMF were great. just wish he wouldn’t have so much trouble with it ㅠㅠ

with trying harder rock, I have the feeling that he did harder rock in the past what was coming through a bit, you can listen to two of his old demos at his blog here:

I can be wrong though
