tomato cube – Self-Titled Review

coverI know that tomato cube isn’t a Jpop group, but with their Self-Titled album, which released in 2001, it sounds a lot like a straight pop album. There are a few genre changes in the album, from indie rock to alt. country; the album is a good window into the music of that year.

Overall, the album is an interesting listen for the different tracks and in a strange twist, I can hear a lot of how Korean indie music plays these days through this album. But as soon as I hear that comparison, another radio friendly pop song appears on the album.

tomato cube is a fun listen, but not much else sticks out about the album.
