나리 (Nari) – Vol. 1 Tearfully – Review

nariI actually wouldn’t consider Tearfully to be an indie album, but it’s not as close to easy-listening and makes it a little to place in a genre. 나리’s 2003 album has the elements of a really interesting indie album along with some mainstream pop songs.

Tearfully falls into the trap of not being able to show off it’s strength because the focus of the album is split. 나리’s vocals are good, if a little subdued on some songs, but it’s a half/half kind of feel for the album. For an album that released in 2003 however, it holds up pretty well, at least the more indie tracks do.

Tearfully could have been a really good indie/light rock album, but the mixture of too many genres causes the album to not have focus.
