The first thing beside the electro-tinged rock is that I think the vocalist is bilingual with Korean being the second language. Pronunciation of the English is clearer than I’ve heard from a lot of bands and the Korean doesn’t sound quite correct. Either way, Urban Explorer is an great listen.
The seven tracks including two remixes are complex because the five tracks of the actual songs move through an evolution of genres with each song. “Silver” does away with the electronica additions and is a straight rock song which moves into “Save Us” which features an strange toned bass line. But then moving back into the last track “Go! Just Go!” Pia return to the synths while maintaining an upbeat rock song.
Korea does amazing work with EPs and mini-albums and Pia’s Urban Explorer is one of the best.
