unkie – Too Many Secrets Review

unkieunkie is a instrumental band who play rock without lyrics. While most instrumental bands that I listen to are of the math-rock genre, unkie bring a different approach to the lyric-less genre by crafting solid rock tracks that are interesting and complex, but use the 4/4 time signature as their foundation.

Over the ten tracks of the album, unkie never let up their aggressive style and maintain a lot of power. There isn’t much in terms of polyrhythms like World’s End Girlfriend or Toe, they more remind me of Green Milk From Planet Orange. Though Green Milk’s style is much more speed rock, unkie is the rock standard.

An impressive instrutmental album that never tires, unkie’s Too Many Secrets is not one to miss.
