浜崎あゆみ (Hamasaki Ayumi) – Rock N Roll Circus Review

hamasakiHamasaki Ayumi was one of the first Jpop singers that I ever heard, introduced to me by a college roommate. I kept up with her music here and there, but found her latest album and decided to see how her music changed.

While the first few tracks are a lot more aggressive than I remember her being, they are a nice change from the simple happy Jpop of the early 2000s. There are the standard ballads, but her voice has remained the same as it did almost ten years ago. She does delve into more electronic based beats on the album, but considering her other tracks did the same thing, it’s not so surprising.

She retained the sound that made her so popular, but on Rock N Roll Circus, she gives a bit more force and it remains interesting.
