이효리 (Lee Hyori) – H-Logic Review

h-logicMy first introduction to 이효리’s music was her third album, It’s Hyorish. Much more aligned with the Korean pop of the time, there were a lot of songs that were pop friendly, especially her singles. On the album, her other tracks weren’t as strong as her singles.

With H-Logic, I was blown away at the dramatic different in the overall theme of the music and the outstanding songs on the album. It’s safe to say on this album, all the tracks are great.

Taking a larger influence from Hip-hop, rap, and even electronica themes, H-Logic breaks away from the Korean pop stigma and produces an album that is future-tense and elevates her above the other popular singers and groups in the genre.

Delayed many times, H-Logic was worth the wait. Even with the occasional ballad, the album is more aggressive than other artists. The release also shows that 이효리 is open to change and not following trends.

She might have shown another side when she was on Family Outing, but she proves that her abilities as a performer are among the best.
