크림슈 (Creamchou) – Shining Love Review

creamchouWhile not limited to Creamchou, the female fronted indie bands from Korea have a very specific vocal delivery to the songs. In the West, indie bands with female singers who carry a slightly more hoarse voice are more expected. From South Korea, when I hear the light sopranos that many vocalists have, it create a much different theme.

Shining Love benefits from this vocal style very well. The songs all feel very light and warming. Even on “샤워” which take a slight electronic synth base, the vocals still make it light and a little amusing.

The album also ventures to a few different genres on the album, ranging from OST-style tracks to some jazz-influenced songs. It doesn’t break the immersion of the album and actually makes it a bit more fun to listen to.

Creamchou is something that will grow on the listener, and I’m waiting to hear something else from the band.
