The Korean hip-hop/rap genres aren’t something I really well versed in, except for the more popular releases. But I have been searching for more of the genre and I came across 리미’s 2010 Rap Messiah.
Taking a very different approach to rap than say, E.Via, 리미 is much more street than the pop of the previous. Also unlike the “rappers” in a lot of Kpop idol groups, 리미 has a lot of impressive chops with her rapping. It has a much darker tone than anything else from a female rapper and remains an interesting listen.
“개이름” actually makes me think that she can kick my own ass. The sixteen tracks (including one skit) have show a lot of talent, even though some of the guest rappers are trying to sound too much like popular American acts. Rap Messiah is a great addition to my introduction to the genre.
Uh, you can ignore the last “k decent” in the last sentence. I failed to edit.
I’ll take a look around and see what I can find
Good album I just found about her through outsiders new album Hero. Her flow seemed decent so I thought why not lol. I also DL another Fem rapper you reviewed on here YEYO but her album was…… I don’t know still trying to figure it out lol!

One of my favorite female k-hiphop emcees is t (aka Tasha, aka 윤미래), who you might know from her association from Drunken Tiger (if you don’t know her already). While she’s also a solid R&B singer, I find that she drops some of the illest guest spot rhymes when she shows up as a rapper. Before her solo career, she was formerly in the one-shot duo Tashianne (along with R&B singer Ann) as well as the earlier hip-hop group Uptown.
A pair of solid k hiphop producers that you might want to check out are The Quiett and Loptimist, who also double as emcees, although their verbal chops aren’t as spectacular. They both have multiple albums of their own and produce a lot for other hip hop acts, including much of the Movement crew. Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, Yankie of TBNY, Pe2ny, and J-Win (who’s sort of vanished after doing much of Epik High’s first three albums) are also really good k decent producers.
