As a big sucker for awesome band names, I took a chance on Archaeopteryx because who would think of using that as a band name? Better still is the music that the band plays, a mix of more rock than punk; but containing a lot of good hooks.

This EP release showcases a much more straight-forward rock sound on the first track, 밀레니엄 아리랑. The style of band doesn’t remain in that style though, the second track fells almost like a Russian drinking song in the swaying rhythm. But then again, 손만 잡았네, the third track sounds almost like an American pop punk song. 3차성징, track four, sounds of a mix of Crying Nut and Nicotine. The final two tracks return to the more rock style.

For six songs, Archaeopteryx show a lot of talent and I’m going to watch out for the next release of this band.
