Meg returns after a couple of singles for her newest full-length. It’s a bit more subdued than her previous more energetic albums, but the tone and flow of the album makes it a good casual listen. It does still contain some electro-pop gems, but for the most part isn’t like some of her more experimental releases.
That said, I enjoyed the album a lot. The changes don’t take away anything from her abilities and even though I like her tracks that are a lot more pulsing, Maverick doesn’t fail in the music presented. Considering her overall releases, Maverick falls in the middle, it’s not mind blowing, but certainly doesn’t fail as an album.
