Clean of Core is a peculiar band. While the music is recognizable math-rock or post-rock, the band takes a lot of similarities from Envy, Toe, and Lite. It’s funny because Envy is a post-rock screamo band while Toe and Lite are in the similar genre to Clean of Core.

Spectacle is another impressive math-rock album from Japan, further illustrating that the genre is well and alive. More so, it shows that Japanese bands are becoming much more technical in their playing for the genre, expanding the boundaries.

Even with only six tracks, Spectacle is a great album for the genre. It’s a bit more subdued in it’s presentation, slightly holding back the aggression that appears to be wanting to release itself. Fan of the genre will not be disappointed.
