I originally reviewed Story Seller’s Super Girls and received some comments that the band was originally called Bloody Cookie. Quite a change, so I happened upon their mini-album, A Curer.
The most think I’m curious to know is what kind of deal was placed in front of the band to change their sound and look because A Curer is a great album that showcases a very distinct rock/indie/punk infused sound. It’s a bit unlike other Korean bands because it has a bit of a sparse garage band sound that isn’t heard that often.
The mini-album only has six songs, but showed a huge amount of potential for the band to continue making songs that could have been either more complex or stayed in the garage rock type of sound the release has. From listening to the changed Story Seller, I can hear some similarities, but Bloody Cookie is the better band.

I totally agree on the Bloody Cookie vs. Storyseller thing. When I did an interview with them after this release though they said they were still trying to develop their sound.. Unfortunate, but intentional.
