The Chinkees sort of died out in the mid-2000s and Mike Park began creating more acoustically driven music. In 2008, he released a 7 inch with one previously released song and one unreleased song. While the vinyl hasn’t been listened to yet, the 7 inch included a download for both songs.
Two songs accompanied with only acoustic guitar, Mike Park’s voice and message continue to impress me with the words and songs that he composes. Growing up in a similar manner (born in the United States), the songs that he sings mean a lot to me and during my early twenties, his songs were a guide for how I should try to live.
The simplistic nature of the songs belay the deep message of the two songs and while The Chinkees and his own solo work is a little dated, it’s still important for people to listen to.
