이상은 (Lee Sang Eun) – We Are Made of Stardust Review

We Are Made of Stardust is an album that made me speechless. Not the fact that it’s the fourteenth album from 이상은, but how effortless the songs sound. There are twelve tracks on the album and they all have a definite specific sound that is perfect.

The album flows from indie rock to jazz fusion to electro-pop, each time sounding perfectly natural. I don’t know how that is possible, but the album doesn’t sound like it’s too difficult or deep, but each track has so much inside that it takes more than one listen to get through.

The mixture of the tracks remind me of World’s End Girlfriend, Utada Hikaru, and circa 2005 Korean indie; which shouldn’t be possible, but is with this album.

An incredible album.
