아이유 (IU) – Real Review

I have always thought that IU had an immense amount of potential when it came to her vocal abilities and was under the impression that her pop songs were secondary to her ballads and use of her voice.

Real, her newest mini-album, mixes the same types of songs together once again. It’s sad because she needs to use her strengths, which still isn’t happening enough in her releases.

Her lead single, 좋은 날, is such a strange song to present the min-album with because while she is able to show off her vocals, the overall theme of the song is weak and in some way, too generic. The verse to chorus to second verse is one of the most awkward that I’ve heard recently.

Her abilitiy to play guitar and listening to some of her covers show a lot more than her company is letting her present to the public.

Real is another standard Kpop release, only showing the cage that IU is placed in.
