케스커 (Casker) – Tender Review

I have mixed opinions of Casker. This being the first release of theirs that I decided to review and also being the newest, I have to say this is their only album that I enjoyed.

I worked through some of their older releases and just couldn’t fairly express how I felt about them because they didn’t click for me.

Tender might not even be that different from their style, but the jazz-indie style works for me on this release. It has the perfect amount of variety along with being much less of an attempt at being light than actually presenting music that doesn’t sound overly forced.

Using a mix of indie and electronica to create the songs, they sound like good indie jazz because of the light nature of the songs, though there are songs that feature as full band, which is something I think lacked on previous releases.

Tender simply sounds right. Something their previous albums didn’t have.
