Mass of the Fermenting Dregs – Zero Comma, Irotoridori no Sekai Review

When looking up bands and finding out what they exactly sound like, I use YouTube. When I found Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, I didn’t even take that time. I just thought the band name sounded interesting.

From the moment I heard the first track, “ゼロコンマ、色とりどりの世界” I realized that the music itself was special. The three piece outfit featuring a female vocalist create indie rock that spends more time finding fast tempo grooves than exploring white noise.

The nine track album is one of the best releases that I heard from Japan in 2010, but forgot to review it before the year ended.

Surprisingly, the band sounds like much more than a three piece, but how each member contributes to the songs makes it sound like a five piece.
