The Brixton Academy – Vivid Review

There are many genres that Japan plays well, or evolves and experiments with. 1980s new wave and pop wasn’t one that I thought I would hear.

The Brixton Academy play new wave pop. There’s no real evolution of the music, it sounds as weird as it did back then. It’s not bad and actually entertaining, but it’s such a bizarre choice of music to perform.

There are other bands that have begun a revival, but thankfully The Brixton Academy haven’t been sucked into the much more sarcastic version of the genre.

The eight song album is a chance because it’s not what I would consider more than what it presents. A 80s new wave album.
