Walrus – Self-Titled Review

In three songs, Walrus have summoned back the age of the garage band. Their recording for their single is one of the most polished-to-sound-dirty records that I have ever heard. It’s pretty obvious the style that’s trying to be accomplished and it works for the most part, but I would have liked to hear the band in a live-record setting.

The garage rock style hasn’t been in many recent releases, but Walrus also sound like they have some influence in their sound through recent American indie rock artists. Similarly they sound like they were influenced in some of the Guitar Wolf’s music as well.

The self-titled is among one of the most interesting releases for 2011, but I need to really hear more.
