Agitato – Colors Review

Agitato is one of the newer types of pop rock that appears to be emerging from Japan. Mixing synth with the pop rock/pop punk the band plays, I can’t help but think they have that perfect anime OST sound.

The nine track album is full of high energy songs, but they all have a similar tone which diminishes the actual talent of the band.

It’s not bad music, far from, but it all uses the same basic arrangement of a pop punk/rock base with filtered vocals. My favorite type of music is one that is able to be reproduced live and I don’t feel that with the band.

Colors is a perfect album for pop punk listeners who want to listen to how the genre is evolving in Japan, but it feels a little too produced for other means.
