Art-School – Boys Don’t Cry Review

Art-School’s Boys Don’t Cry is a live album containing twenty-three of the band’s songs. Considering I think that all of their full-lengths are some of the best Japanese rock next to Asian Kung-Fu Generation, the album is the perfect introduction to the sound of the band.

Japanese rock has a very distinct sound, even within the genre, and Art-School’s rock mixes straight-forward rock songs with more complex and dense statements.

The album doesn’t have all of the newer tracks since it was released in 2004, but Boys Don’t Cry is among my favorite live albums.

Including an incredible recording which caters to those who enjoy a live sound as opposed to a somewhat remixed and cleaned tone, listeners can’t lose with the album.
