Hee Young – So Sudden Review

Even though Hee Young’s EP was through Pastel Music, it sounds like an United States debut. The great thing about the EP is that it has the strange ability to break through indie from the United States and still sound like a familiar artist from Korea.

The seven song EP contains five tracks in English and two songs re-recorded in Korean. With her whimsical vocals over some of the most calming indie rock is a prize for 2011. I didn’t know really what to expect with the release, hearing little about it until I started going to through the songs.

Her vocals are some of the best that I’ve heard, controlled and precise; they match each song perfectly. The instrumentals as well are pitch perfect for the arrangements of the songs. I can’t recommend this enough because it’s an amazing release. Better still it’s an amazing EP for both the United States and Korea.
