Sloth Love Chunks – Shikakui Vision Review

It’s been a while since I’ve heard Japanese rock that was so straight-forward with the 4/4 time signature. Sloth Love Chunks plays a mixture of pop punk/rock that reminds me of my early college days with music that didn’t try to be extremely complicated.

Shikakui Vision is simple in presentation, but excellent in arrangement. The album is ten songs of upbeat, interesting tracks. Not every song tries to copy the one before it, creating different concepts for the songs, but always remaining consistent with a fast tempo.

The female vocals that aren’t quite melodic also add to the music by not attempting to mirror the melody, but working along side of it. The album isn’t boring during any point and it one of the great albums that will be great to go back to even after some time.
