Ken-U – Labyrinth of Lovely Thing Review

I was expecting Ken-U to be a much more standard hip-hop artist who just delivered vocals over standard samples. What I received was a strong artist who is influenced by Latin and Caribbean grooves and tones.

The album might not have strange time signatures, but the tracks where Ken-U is performing solo are much stronger than his songs with guests.

I would even say that Ken-U goes beyond hip-hop with Labyrinth of Lovely Thing and finds a way to combine many different styles into something much more impressive.

The album is both light and complex, a difficult combination that is successful on the album.
