Kenichiro Nishihara – Life Review

From the ashes of my listening to Nujabes, I found a few other producers who created instrumental works accompanied by guest vocalists.

Kenichiro Nishihara’s Life is the newest album that I’ve listened from the producer, but it continues the same vein of the strong hip-hop based instrumentals that function equally as melodic tracks or backgrounds for vocalists.

Life is a light album, not delving into harder beats, but focuses on melodies and laid-back beats. Even with quicker tempos, the songs don’t push the bass over the treble and each song is easily digested.

The album also has a mixture of jazz beats in some of the songs, a strength of Nishihara’s throughout his songs. Life covers the tone of the walk around the city, just looking at the sights. It’s perfect background music.
