As bands rise and fall, members of groups come together to form new bands and create new sounds. killing boy is one of those bands, featuring members of Art-School, Straightener, Hinto, and Nothing’s Carved in Stone.
Their self-titled album featuring nine tracks is very reminiscent of Art-School and that genre of rock, partially because it features the vocalist from that band. The bass style is a non-stop accompaniment of the beat. With a groove strong style, killing boy sounds like a combination of the styles of each individual member meshing together.
I’ll admit, it’s not a huge step away from a recognizable Japanese rock style, but it does show that the band is able to work through different styles with little problem.
Hopefully the next release will have a bit more strength.
