Trampauline – Self-Titled Review
I never knew that the genre of electronica and its sub-genres from Korea had so many layers. Trampauline’s 2008 self-titled album is a work of art. It’s different because it has a light electro-pop feel and strangely hypnotic layered songs.
The vocals are one of the main strengths with the release because they add a lot to each of the songs, not just being an addition, they complete every song and I can’t imagine the vocals being removed for any of the songs.
In some sense, Trampauline is more of an indie album than electronica, short of the instruments used. It’s an interesting release, and I’m wondering if there has been an evolution of the music.

Yeah. I have friends and relatives in Korea that occasionally do favors for me and search around in Korea (which mostly entails those Korean auction sites and Hyang), but sometimes you hear about a disc too late and then it’s download or wait and pray.

After seeing some videotaped performances of Trampauline on YouTube via RECANDPLAYNET, I really wanted to get a hold of their album, but it looks like physical copies are out of print.
No luck on the Korean auction sites either, so far.
