ミドリ (Midori) – First Review

Taking in the mini-album, First, from Midori; a few things stick out. The members are all good musicians and the genre of music they choose is very deliberate. A combination of piano, drums, guitar, and bass; from that description they could have been a jazz style band.

But instead, Midori take a very noise rock approach to their music. It’s hyper and frenetic, sounding all over the place, but each strangely placed note and beat all create a great combination to make addictive music.

First has to be given a chance because the music isn’t really comparable to other Japanese bands, but First is appropriately named because it’s where a listener should start.
