Granrodeo – Supernova Review

If there was any band that I could designate as the model for recognizable popular Japanese rock, Granrodeo sits in it.

Supernova is pop rock, but not in the form of pop songs; but what sounds like insanely produced music. The vocals remind me of anime soundtracks or visual kei style bands.

But like many of these bands, Granrodeo have very catchy songs. The band mixes up the songs by including more radio pop songs, groove-jazz style, and over-the-top ballads.

The album is a fun listen if not taken too seriously. Granrodeo is a talented band, but it’s not something that could be listened to everyday.
