잠 (Zzzaam) – Requiem #1 Review

I listened to 잠’s later album before hearing Requiem #1 and while there are similarities; both albums have a different feel to them.

Requiem #1 feels a bit more experimental and the songs are open with their time. “No. 20″ is one of my favorite songs one the release, clocking in at a bit over seven minutes. But the tone of the album is interesting because with the shoegaze genre there is a lot of space to explore.

The later parts of the album change from shoegaze to more standard rock with “Kick & Dash.” The end of the album sounds like the band were trying some new things and decided to record them.

The first half of Requiem #1 is were the magic is. The last third is a little more strange.
