Art-School – 左ききのキキ Review

Art-School have many releases and going through many of them is a bit difficult. 2005 saw the release of 左ききのキキ, a six song EP that sits in the middle of a sort of transformation of the band.

It’s interesting to listen to the difference in style that the band had from their earlier releases to the more recent. This era, the mid 2000s, is my favorite sound of the band. While members have split for project groups, slightly changing the sound of the rock that the band plays, these few years show much of the strength the band had.

If there was a band that was a must listen for early listeners of Japanese rock, Art-School would have to be included with them. A mixture of complex arrangements over what sounds like simple songs, Art-School are another side of the dice for the genre in Japan
