While I’m a huge fan of Beat Crusaders, there is a discrepancy between the singles they release and their albums. Sometimes the singles are stronger than the albums they’re on or the other way around.

In the case of popdod, the singles that released before the release of the album in 2008 gave a hint of a different sound than the album had. popdod is still an amazing album, but the album changed the tone of the band from a fun-loving pop punk/rock band to a little more somber pop punk/rock band.

It’s still a great album, but I felt a little less connected to the energy from other albums. It’s a worthwhile listen, but expect a bit more mature sound.
