Kenmochi Hidefumi – Tiger Lily Review

If there was a release that would be a good sampler for how the Japanese hip-hop producer based sub-genre sounds; Kenmochi Hidefumi’s Tiger Lily would be perfect.

A short, but sweet six song release, the album features a lot of the standard pieces of the jazz-influenced style. Even with the small track count, songs range from a little over a minute to about eight and a half.

Tiger Lily is a laid-back and clean themed release, focusing on the melody over lighter polyrhythms. It does have some age being released in 2007, but still comes off strong.
