After School (애프터 스쿨) – Red Review

I will admit that After School has never been a really big listen for me. When I heard they were borrowing the “graduation” system that has become attached to Japan’s Morning Musume and their earlier singles never really interested me.

The idea of two sub-groups wasn’t new to me either, but I was interested in the song when I watched the Red sub group perform live. “밤 하늘에” is an addictive single. It has a lot of hooks in the song because the beats are a little different and it’s not sugar pop.

The second song “Hollywood” carries a much more bass-heavy club beat which is a 180 from the first song. It’s a fun song as well, but not as addictive to me as the title track.

After School continues to evolve and this isn’t a bad thing.
